Introducing our team

Jacki Kelsch – Founder / CEO

When Jacki became disabled due to an accident, she needed something to do, so she took her love of scrapbooking and started creating for those on hospice care. After a few years it lead her to doing albums for families who had lost a loved one, to help them through their grieving.  Jacki has always been a creative person and finally found a way to help others while enjoying her craft.

Norma Chappell – Director

Norma joined our team in 2009, while Handy Hands was still at Jacki’s house. She came to donate some supplies and found that her heart felt this was something she should continue to do. Her talent and her fun attitude keeps things moving right along, especially while dealing with such a difficult task. Norma started doing albums and joined the design team, soon after starting. She has a super good eye for design  and a true love for BLING. She gives countless hours helping us meet our goals, while running her family business, Simply Painting.

Candy Cardillo – Director

Candy joined our team in 2013 , starting as a volunteer and quickly moved up to design team 2016, helping prepare albums for families. Her contagious positive  enthusiasm is very much a welcome addition.  Candy has a very distinct flare for design, color and loves the vintage look . She taught many years of calligraphy, which she has put into most every album she has created.  Candy has given many hours volunteering, working on projects at home as well as at the office.

Arline Voodre – Secretary

Arline has been with Handy Hands since the beginning, in 2008. She retired from her job in 2015 and now is able to help out on a more regular basis. She has a detail-oriented work ethic. She befriends and welcomes all who come to volunteer. She joined the design team in 2017 after building up her skills due to her availability to spend more time at the shop and is eager to learn. She is excited to assist and see her albums help families.

Bev Hoek – Volunteer / Email

Bev has been with Handy Hands since 2009. She has continued to volunteer on a fairly regular basis. She took over the emails and volunteer list in 2015, so the emails you get are sent to you by Bev. If you respond to an email she will either help you if she can or forward on to Jacki for personal attention. She is a very talented active quilter and uses some of her extra time helping us with things we need done.

Paulette Owlsley – Grants

Paulette just recently joined our team after retiring from many years of work. She has lots of experience in grant writing and the paper crafting world too. She has a GO-GETTER attitude which will be a great asset to Handy Hands. She was assistant manager at World Class Scrappers, which was a wonderful local scrapbook store that sadly closed, approximately 2014. Paulette has been paper crafting for many years and has a beautiful purple craft room, which she puts to good use.
